Fees & expenses
There are three basic fee structures for our consulting services:
- Time and materials: Payments are made on a regular basis (e.g. once per month) for the duration of the project, with billing based on an hourly or daily rate plus materials and reimbursed expenses.
- Profit/Equity Sharing: Payments are based on performance and made at predetermined milestones (e.g. completing a phase of the project, delivering the final report). One variation of this structure is a gain-sharing arrangement, in which the amount paid to the consultant is directly proportional to the measurable results of his or her work.
- Fixed price: A set fee is quoted and paid for the entire project. A deposit is required up front and sometimes progress payments are required based on the length of the project.
Consultant agreements are signed prior to the start of any project outlining the scope of the project.
Confidentiality agreements are also signed to insure confidentiality of shared information. Confidentiality agreements, sometimes called secrecy or nondisclosure agreements, are contracts entered into by two or more parties in which some or all of the parties agree that certain types of information that pass from one party to the other or that are created by one of the parties will remain confidential.
